Why do you like photography?
Photography is a hobby as well as an exercise in mindfulness. It forces me to slow down and pay attention, teaching me to see things in different ways, and it allows me to appreciate overlooked details, passing moments, and the 'good light' which can also be shared with others. Photography is rewarding because its challenging: besides learning the technical skills to take photographs, there's also the creative process behind the shots too (which for me is often more difficult!).
What brought you to be a part of the PA community?
I was new to Sydney and wanted to meet people who like photography. PA were doing photo walks, so I went along, and it was great (there were even prizes!). Photographers Anonymous (i.e. Jackie) has done an incredible job of building a community which is full of friendly people, has loads of fun events, is welcoming to newbies, and...dare I say it...makes you feel a little less anonymous in the local photography community ;-)

Which theme did you choose and why? What was your thought process behind the images?
I chose the theme 'nature' as I love being outdoors. Sydney has an abundance of beautiful natural locations and I spend a lot of my weekends exploring and enjoying these places. In these images, I've tried to showcase both the beauty and variety of the natural locations that Sydney has to offer while taking you on a little tour of some of the highlights from my summer nature adventures.

Any advice to those who haven't joined a walk yet? What to expect?
Come along, join the tribe! Expect a warm and friendly bunch who are always down to take some pics, talk about cameras, or just have a yarn.
