Why do you like photography?
I like to see myself as a collector of sorts. Photography lets me collect pieces of the universe and call them my own. I see something I like, I take a photo, and now it’s mine! Eventually I’d like to exhibit my work and share my collection with the world.
What made you want to be a part of the PA community?
I enjoyed being around fellow camera nerds! I’ve been in the group since 2017 and thanks to PA I’ve been able to venture out around Sydney and really explore our city – making awesome friends along the way.
Which theme did you choose and what was your thought process behind the images?
I chose Shape. Being in lockdown makes you see things. I started noticing curves and textures in food and everyday household items, so I wanted to highlight that in this series.
Any advice to those who want to join the group?
If you’d like to see more of Sydney, want to meet new people, get film advice (some shoot digital too!), get unsolicited camera pics, we’re the right group for you! Other than photowalks, PA Boss Jackie organises film developing and studio lighting portraiture classes from time to time as well!
