Why do you like photography?
I like photography because it keeps me sane. I can go out into the world, on my own or with friends, and I don’t have to think about anything else except what I want to shoot. I also enjoy looking back on the images, whether they’re my own or others, and photos create a memory that lasts forever.

What made you want to be a part of the PA community?
I was looking for like-minded people that shared the same love of photography in a more casual atmosphere, where it didn’t matter what gear you had or how you shoot photos, just as long as you shoot.

Which theme did you choose and what was your thought process behind the images?
I chose colour. I’m usually a black & white shooter, and have a collection of colour filters for that. I have always wondered what shooting with colour filters on colour film would look like, so I used this time to experiment with a few different colour filters, with some Kodak Pro Image 100 film on my Hasselbald Xpan (35mm panoramic camera).
The results were better than I expected! Everything went monochromatic, according to the colour of the filter: Red filter made everything go red,Green made everything a shade of green, and so on. Given the right subject, it can be a cool post-apocalyptic effect.

Any advice to those who want to join the group?
Just join up! Don’t worry if you’re a beginner or a seasoned professional, we welcome everyone. Most of us shoot with our film cameras, including instant, but we also shoot digital, and hell even dare I say phone cameras!
