Why do you like photography?
I picked up photography to capture better images of my kids, since these are precious one-off memories as they grow up, but quickly went a bit crazy when I found my dad’s old Pentax Spotmatic and started developing film…the rest is history! Now, I shoot everything – pinhole, large format, digital, darkroom prints. I just love the gear, art, experimenting, and creativity of making photographs, and the crazy people you meet along the way!

What made you want to be a part of the PA community?
Speaking of which… haha, I was an ORIGINAL PA member there on the first walk! It just started out as a way to hang out with like-minded lovely people, and we’ve grown into a social club, camera swap, workshop, support group, and even an artists enclave! The best things we’ve done include our zines and gallery exhibition, and @thecovidsweats zine project, and just hanging out with you lovely folks is always fun!
Which theme did you choose and what was your thought process behind the images?
Shapes. I have been working on a series of multiple exposure images inspired by Revisionist Photography https://www.revisionistphotography.com/ - and was just blown away by the effect of having up to 20 exposures of a distinctive building on a single frame of film. No tripod, just lots of random shooting (and a sore thumb!). What you end up with is an amazing one-off set of vague shapes that resemble your subject like an impressionistic dreamscape. Try it yourself!
Any advice to those who haven't joined a walk yet? What to expect?
Just come along, you’ll find a friend!! Bring your camera(s) and have fun.
